Green and White Loaf Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting and Sprinkles
This loaf cake is made with white cake mix, cream cheese frosting, green food coloring and sprinkles. This was a simple cake to make and assemble for St. Patrick’s Day. To make this cake, I used a loaf pan to create the loaf-shaped cake. Then I added green food coloring to the white cake mixture and then baked the cake. For this recipe, I bought the cream cheese frosting instead of making it this time. There are a variety of cream cheese frosting brands that are tasty and creamy that can be used for cakes. This brand of Baker’s Choice cream cheese was very creamy and delicious for this cake recipe. The green sprinkles are optional to add to this cake, as it gives the cake a small pop of green color.

White Cake Mix
- Add the white cake mix to a bowl.
- Add the eggs, vegetable oil, and water.
- Mix until combined.
Loaf Pan
- Grease a loaf pan with butter.
- Sprinkle white cake mix in the pan. (This will help the cake from sticking to the pan.)
- Add the white cake mixture to the pan.
- Add drops of green food coloring to the white cake mixture. Then gently swirl the green food coloring in the white cake mixture.
Bake
Bake the cake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
Decorate the Loaf Cake
- Once the cake is baked, let the cake cool.
- Remove the cake from the loaf pan. Add to a dish.
- Add and coat the cream cheese frosting to the top of the loaf cake.
- Sprinkle green sprinkles over the cream cheese frosting.

Storage

For this Saint Patrick’s Day, I wanted to make a simple green color cake that did not require many ingredients or steps to make. A simple combination of white cake mix, green food coloring, and creamy cream cheese frosting with green sprinkles creates a lovely green, white loaf cake to enjoy on Saint Patrick’s Day.

- 2 cups white cake mix
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 8 oz. cream cheese frosting
- 15 drops green food coloring
- Green sprinkles
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
White cake mix. In a bowl, add the white cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until combined.
Loaf pan. In a loaf pan, grease the pan with butter and a tablespoon of white cake mix. Add the white cake mixture. Add drops of green food coloring. Swirl the green food coloring in the white cake mixture.
Bake. Bake the cake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until the cake is golden brown. Remove the cake from the oven, then let it cool.
Cream cheese frosting and sprinkles. With a butter knife, coat and smooth the top part of the loaf cake with the cream cheese frosting. Lightly sprinkle the green sprinkles over the cream cheese frosting.
