Red & White Heart Cake with Red Cream Cheese Frosting

A sweet, soft, and moist red and white cake is a nice way to enjoy a tasty dessert on this festive day of admiration and love. Valentine's Day is a wonderful day to celebrate with a heart-shaped dessert cake layered with a creamy red cream cheese frosting that is connected to romance and affection.

Valentine's Day Heart-Shaped Cake

Valentine's Day is a popular romantic celebration in the states. It is celebrated among romantic partners, family, and friends. This is one day out of the year where sweet desserts are especially enjoyed. Desserts such as cupcakes and cakes are popular Valentine's desserts. Heart-shaped cakes are ideal dessert cakes for Valentine's Day. This is a nice way of expressing and showing affection and love and a great way to be creative on this romantic day. Restaurants and many bakeries often offer heart-shaped cakes for purchase prior to Valentine's Day. Heart-shaped cakes are simple cakes to make at home and can be customized to one's preference.

Heart-Shaped Pan

The essential kitchen tool to achieve a heart shape is a heart-shaped pan. Nonstick heart-shaped pans are great for baking on Valentine's Day. For this cake recipe, I used a heart-shaped fluted cake pan. This is different from heart-shaped pans, as this type of pan consists of a smooth surface pan with fluted sides. The fluted heart-shaped mold gives this cake an elegant yet heartwarming Valentine's dessert to enjoy.

Red & White Heart Cake with Red Cream Cheese Frosting

This red and white cake is made with red and white cake mix, red cream cheese frosting, and then garnished with red sprinkles. The red cream cheese is optional, as this adds a pop of a beautiful red color that is ideal for this Valentine's Day cake. If the red cream cheese frosting becomes a dull light red color, add the red cream cheese frosting to the microwave for 5-10 seconds, then mix to get a rich and deep red color. The cream cheese can be used to cover the entire cake or only the top part of the cake. I layered the red cream cheese on the top part of this heart cake. This adds a great touch to the cake.
