Fall Table Decor

Fall tables are visually appealing. They represent the beauty of fall in one elaborate setting with unique decor. Fall decor colors embody warm, dark, and rich colors similar to the transitions of colors of fall foliage. Dark fall tablecloths add a nice fall touch to the table. Fall silk flower arrangements create an elegant and striking decor for a fall table. Artificial fall fruits are great add-ons to any fall table. Pumpkins, pears, and apples make nice additions. Other creative ideas can include adding artificial branches, fall foliage, and scented candles.

Fall Table for Pineapple Ham Dinner

This year I decided to create a small fall table that included traditional fall foods and flavors. This was a simple yet creative and affordable table I put together. Many of the ingredients and dishes were bought and made at reasonable prices. Many luxury fall tablescapes can be expensive to recreate. Fortunately, there are do-it-yourself projects for fall tablescapes that are budget-friendly. This year I stuck to more of a budget when it came to this dinner fall table.

Apple Cider Cinnamon

When we think of fall drinks, apple cider is one of those drinks that comes to mind. Apple is an abundant fruit that is harvested in the states during this time of the year, making apple drinks such as apple cider and hot cider common and popular fall drinks to enjoy during the season. Apple cider is a great seasonal fall drink that represents fall flavor, and it is also a great alternative to traditional apple juice. For this table, I bought Mayer Brothers apple cider cinnamon. Apple and cinnamon are tasty fall flavor combinations. This was a delicious drink. The blend of apple cider and cinnamon flavor provided the unique and warm flavor of fall.

Baked Potatoes

There are numerous side dishes to choose from for fall. Potatoes may not seem as popular as pumpkins and apples, but they are still a common and delicious side dish to serve. Warm and freshly baked potatoes topped with butter, sour cream, bacon bites, and green onions make a great baked potato to enjoy. Baked potatoes from many steakhouse restaurants are seasoned and baked to excellence.

For these baked potatoes, my goal was to recreate steakhouse-style baked potatoes. This was simple to do. Russet potatoes are the go-to potatoes for baked potatoes. I coated the potatoes in olive oil and sea salt. I baked the potatoes at a high temperature of 400 degrees for about an hour. Once baked, I opened each potato and added some butter. These potatoes tasted very similar to a steakhouse baked potato.

Buttermilk Biscuits

Soft, warm, and buttery biscuits are tasty side dishes for any fall meal. With so many fall side dishes to choose from, biscuits are one of those side dishes we may easily overlook. It is not as common as other traditional sides, but it is still a popular fall side to add to a dinner table. These biscuits can be made from scratch or bought at the supermarket at an affordable price. Though making biscuits from scratch may take longer, they may taste better. Homemade biscuits have a fresh quality that cannot be compared to store bought canned biscuits. There are delicious, canned biscuits that are similar to home quality. Canned biscuits are also a quick time saver.

For this fall table, I bought canned Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits. They are very simple to bake and then serve. The taste is not exactly home-quality, but these biscuits still do taste good.

Yams

Sweet and warm side dishes are ideal for fall. Yams are a common side dish for the fall. It is often compared to sweet potatoes, though both yams and sweet potatoes are clearly different vegetables. Both sweet potatoes and yams are vegetables and are commonly used as a holiday side dish. The difference is the appearance; sweet potatoes have a light orange-reddish skin compared to yams with brown skin. The taste is also different. Sweet potatoes are known to be sweet, while yams are not sweet. Canned yams available at the supermarket generally have a mild sweet flavor.

Canned yams, depending on the brand, can be a quick and tasty side dish to add to the fall dinner table. I bought Bruce’s canned yams, which are sweet potatoes in syrup. Not sure if it was this particular canned yam or the brand, but it was not very good. The yams lacked flavor and tasted watered down, but it was still a nice addition to add to this fall table.

Spinach Apple Almond Salad

A healthy and light dish to serve during the fall holidays are salads. There are various popular salad types that include traditional and common fall ingredients. Fall salads can include leaf lettuce, apples, walnuts, pecans, and cranberries. Vinaigrette dressing is a nice blend of flavors that makes a great dressing for fall salads. Spinach is an ideal leafy green vegetable base for salads, and it is a common fall salad ingredient. Spinach pairs well with other fall ingredients, creating a delicious and flavorful fall salad.

This is a simple spinach salad I put together in no time. The salad only included three ingredients: fresh spinach, red apple, and almonds. I bought a washed and ready-to-eat bag of spinach from Marketside. For the apple, I used a fresh red gala apple, then cut into cubes. Lastly, I garnished with almond slices. Salad plain may not be as enjoyable as with a tasty dressing. I made a vinaigrette dressing and added it to the salad. It was an appetizing fall salad.

Pineapple Brown Sugar Ham

When it comes to holiday meats, ham is a common meat choice found across many tables in the United States. Ham is a tasty meat option shared among family and friends on Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are different types of ham to choose from at the supermarket, from precut ham to whole boneless ham to smoked and honey ham. Ham is a versatile meat that can be prepared in many ways. Baked ham with a glaze is a popular and delicious way of cooking ham for the fall. I enjoy ham during the holidays. It is a type of meat that I can eat throughout the holidays and not get tired of it.

I bought precut boneless honey ham and canned pineapple from the supermarket. I added the ham to a baking dish with sliced pineapple, the pineapple juice as well, and brown sugar. I baked the ham with the ingredients. This was a simple ham dish to assemble, and it was a very flavorful ham dish.

Red and White Heart Cake

Baking is a great pastime during the fall. There is something special about baking during the cooler seasons. It may have something to do with the comforting and warm feeling that a fresh, hot baked cake brings to a cozy fall home. Desserts, especially cakes, are popular seasonal dishes for the fall season. There are tons of cake ideas to make during this season. The options seem endless.

I typically like to add a homemade dessert to table meals that I make. One of the main reasons is that many supermarket and bakery cakes are too sweet for my taste. Baking at home gives me more of a creative outlet, and I can make the cake as sweet as I’d like.

For this cake, I used a white and red velvet cake mix. I added the cake batter to a heart-shaped cake pan, then baked. This was a beautiful and delicious cake for this fall table.
