Baked Cinnamon Apple Slices

Fall is a wonderful season for apple recipes. Warm and spicy seasonal flavors create a savory apple fall dish to enjoy. The blend of apple slices and cinnamon is a flavorful yet simple recipe to try out this season.

Apples

Apple is a well-known fruit that represents the fall and is abundant throughout the season. It is known as a classic and traditional fall fruit enjoyed by many individuals. In addition, it is a versatile fruit that can be used in numerous types of fall dishes. Apples are a popular addition to salads and desserts. They can also be cooked in different ways. Baking apples is a popular method during the fall season. Baked cinnamon apples have a unique taste that resembles delicious fall apple dishes.

Baked Cinnamon Apple Slices

Baked cinnamon apples are sliced apples seasoned with various sweet seasonings and then baked. For this apple dish, I seasoned the apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. The flavors of baked apples and the blend of warm fall spices create a delicious, sweet dish to savor this fall season.

For this recipe, you can either opt to leave the apple skin on or peel the apples. This is more of a preference, though the texture may differ a bit. Apples tend to brown up quite fast once cut and peeled. To help prevent the apples from browning, make the sugar seasoning mix first and add lemon juice or any type of citrus to the cut apples.

Baking the Apples

Apples can become dry during the baking process. Adding water and butter during the cooking process helps the apples from drying up. The combination of the water and butter adds moisture to the apples.
