Grapes are the berry fruits of a vine plant that grows in clusters on vines or shrubs. Also known as climber plants, they grow with the aid of another plant or external support.
There are various colors and varieties of grapes. One of the most common uses of grapes is for table grapes, which are sold at supermarkets for fresh consumption. Grapes are also very well known to be used for juices and wine. There are various grape colors, including green, yellow, red, purple, and black grapes. The green grapes are also known as white grapes. The green and red grapes are the most common types of grapes found in supermarkets.
Much of the production of table grapes is in Asia. In Europe, much of the wine grape production is in Italy and France. In the United States, it is in the state of California due to the climate, which is ideal for grapevines. They produce a large percentage of wine grapes.
Climate & Planting
Grapes grow well in warm climates. They thrive during the summer season. Grapes require sunlight throughout the day. Grapevines are full-sun plants. The vines of the grapes need sun; this will also aid in allowing the grapes to ripen, though they can tolerate shade too.
These grape vines were planted around the poles and roof of the gazebo. Most of the grape vines are in full sun around the gazebo. A few of the grape vines have been growing under the gazebo in partial shade. The grape vines are wrapped around the gazebo with the support of a braided rope. These green grapes are able to grow under shade, which is normally not recommended for the growth of grapes.
