Beef & Broccoli

Beef and broccoli is a filling and simple main dish to make at home. A simple Asian restaurant-inspired dish to make for dinner. 

Beef and broccoli is a stir-fry dish with soft and tender steak strips and broccoli, then combined and seasoned with sauce. It is an American Chinese dish that is offered in many Chinese takeout restaurants throughout the United States. 


Ingredients Details

Meat

Beef steak; alternative: round steak

Vegetables

Broccoli: fresh broccoli; alternative: frozen broccoli

Bell pepper: green bell pepper; alternative: red or yellow bell pepper

Onion: red onion; alternative: white onion

Garlic cloves: fresh garlic

Condiment

Olive oil; alternatives: sunflower or sesame oil

Seasonings

Beef and broccoli seasoning mix: Alternative Kikkoman Broccoli-Beef Stir-Fry seasoning mix or Great Value Beef and Broccoli

Ground black pepper

Salt: plain salt



Ingredients

½ pound beef steak

2 fresh broccoli brunches

1 green bell pepper

1 small red onion

5 garlic cloves

½ cup olive oil

1 packet beef and broccoli seasoning mix

1 tablespoon ground pepper

2 teaspoons salt


Instructions

Beef Steak

Cut the beef steak into smaller pieces. This step is not necessary if you prefer the longer beef steak pieces. 

On medium heat, in a skillet, add the olive oil and beef steak.

Seasoning 

For the seasoning, add the ground pepper and salt. 

Add any other seasoning if desired. Cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes or until desired beef tenderness. 

Cut vegetables

Cut the following ingredients into small pieces:

  • garlic cloves
  • green bell pepper
  • red onion
  • broccoli brunch

Add the following cut ingredients to the skillet:

  • garlic cloves
  • green bell pepper 
  • red onion 

Cook the cut ingredients with the beef for 10 minutes.

Add the cut broccoli and the seasoning mix to the skillet. 

Combine and mix all the ingredients. Cook the beef and broccoli until tender or until desired tenderness.
