Corn Plants

The corn plant is a long-stalked wild grass plant, also known as a corn stalk. It is considered a grain, fruit, or vegetable. The main corn colors are white, yellow, and bicolor. Bicolor is a combination of white and yellow kernels.

Corn’s origins began in Central America. Now, corn has circulated in many different parts of the world, where it is planted and consumed. It is a crop that is produced in various regions around the world. The U.S. is a large producer of corn. Other large corn producers are Brazil, Mexico, and China.


Sunlight & Planting

Corn is a warm-weathered crop. It thrives well in full sun all day. 

These corn stalks are planted in the ground with brown mulch in the garden and in a plastic plant pot with drainage holes.

Food & Drinks

Corn is naturally sweet and tastes delicious. When fresh corn is not available or is not in season, canned and frozen corn are good alternatives. They are usually found in most supermarkets at an affordable price.  

There are many corn food products, such as popcorn, chips, cereal, and corn syrup, a liquid sweetener. There are numerous international corn dishes. In Mexico, corn, or maize, is a popular food staple. Corn tortillas are a vital part of Mexican cuisine. It is consumed by a large part of the population in Mexico and other regions of Central America.
