Fried Zucchini

Fried zucchini is an appetizing and tasty dish to enjoy. This fried zucchini recipe is crisp, lightly seasoned, and has a soft texture. A great side dish to savor with a tasty sauce. 

Fried zucchini is fresh zucchini coated in an egg mixture and breadcrumbs, then fried. The zucchini can be cut into slices or French fry shapes. In this recipe, the zucchini was cut into French fry shapes and mildly seasoned. Sweet and sour sauce is optional. This sauce is a nice combination with fried zucchini. 

Ingredients Details

Zucchini: fresh zucchini
Egg: white egg
Crumbs: breadcrumbs; alternative quinoa flakes or pretzel crumbs
Cooking oil: corn oil; alternative vegetable oil
Seasoning
Salt: fine sea salt; alternative plain salt or sea salt
Pepper: ground black pepper
Sauce: sweet and sour sauce; alternative sweet chili sauce



Ingredients

  • 2 zucchinis
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup corn oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Sweet & sour sauce 

Instructions

Zucchini. Cut the zucchini into a French fry shape. Then sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Egg mixture & breadcrumbs. In a small bowl, beat an egg. Dip the zucchini in the egg mixture. On a plate, add the breadcrumbs. Roll the zucchini in the breadcrumbs, evenly coating each zucchini.

Frying. On medium-high heat, fry in the corn oil 6-8 zucchini fries at a time for 2-3 minutes each, or until golden brown. Place the cooked zucchini on a paper towel to drain the oil. Season with salt and pepper.

Dipping sauce. Add sweet and sour sauce in a small bowl, if desired.
