Sautéed Cinnamon Apples

Sautéed cinnamon apples is an ideal fall recipe to make at home. These apples are tasty, delicious, and soft. Cinnamon apples are a great dessert dish served with a scoop of ice cream or even as a side dish for fall. 

     

Sautéed cinnamon apples are small, cubed apples sautéed in a skillet topped with sweet ingredients such as cinnamon and honey. There are various types of apples that can be used for sautéing. A few apples that are best to cook with are Fuji apples, gala, and honeycrisp. These types of apples are popular and are usually found in most supermarkets.

Ingredients Details

Apples: red Gala apples; alternative Fuji or Honeycrisp apples
Water: filtered water
Butter: unsalted butter
Honey: pure honey
Extract: pure vanilla extract
Cinnamon: ground cinnamon
Salt: plain salt

Ingredients

  • 5 apples
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Instructions

Apples. Cut the apples into cubed pieces.

Cook. In a skillet, cook the apples in water over low-medium heat. Stir occasionally until they begin to soften. Then add the butter, honey, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Then slowly mix the apples and the ingredients. Cook until the apples have softened and the ingredients have coated all the cubed apples.

Serve the sautéed apples with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
