Fried Tilapia

Fried tilapia is a delicious seafood dish to make this Labor Day. This fish recipe goes great with many of the holiday side dishes. An excellent dish to enjoy this holiday.

Fried tilapia is tilapia coated in flour and seasoned then fried in oil. Tilapia is a great alternative to other popular fishes in the fish markets.

For this recipe, I used fresh tilapia from my local supermarket. Fish markets are great places to buy fresh fish and other seafood. All-purpose flour is a great option for frying the tilapia. Other great alternatives are cornstarch and rice flour for frying. Corn oil is a great option for frying. For frying the tilapia, I used corn oil. There are blended oils such as vegetable oil that work well for frying food.

Begin by seasoning the tilapias with garlic, onion powder, then salt and pepper. You can opt to use different seasonings for the fish. Have two sperate dishes, one for the egg mixture and another for the flour. In a small bowl, beat one egg. Add the egg mixture to a dish, then add flour to another dish. Coat the fish in the egg mixture, then flour. Fry the tilapias with corn oil. Squeeze lemon over the fish for an additional tasty flavor and zest.
